Science Night LIVE! was a new kind of science communication and networking event that took place on 29 March 2023 at the Science Centre Heureka in Vantaa. E2 Research was the main organiser of the event in cooperation with Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and Science Centre Heureka.
The event which was organised in English provided a new platform for researchers from foreign backgrounds living and working in Finland to share their work and get to know stakeholders such as the media, companies, organisations, and the wider scientific community. The event also gave the public the opportunity to learn about the latest research results and interesting research topics.
Researchers from abroad and stakeholder representatives from 20 universities and organisations from all over Finland performed during the evening in panel discussions, a pitch competition, an interview platform, and a TED Talk-style Science Theatre format. Our speakers also had the opportunity to participate in science communication training before the event.
The international and multidisciplinary event was attended by over 160 guests and 32 speakers from all over Finland, with a focus on AI, sustainability issues and social justice.
The event was funded by Tieteen Tiedotus. The partners of the pitching competition were Technology Finland, Business Finland, The Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers (FUURT), and CGI. The event was also supported by cooperation with the deans of eight universities.
