Just Food studies ways to transition to a climate-smart and healthy food system in a sustainable, acceptable and just manner
We are lacking concepts for discussing and assessing the fairness of sustainable food system transition. Moreover, we are missing the practical solutions and policy measures to guide the sustainable transition in a fair manner. Just Food tackles this challenge and develops definitions and criteria for fair and sustainable food system transition.
In this transdisciplinary reserach project we seek answers to:
- What is a just food transition?
- How do we promote just food transition in practice?
- What kind of policy measures will speed up the sustainable and just food transition?
Just Food analyses just food transtition with interdisciplinary modelling and tests solutions in cooperation with its case partners. We work in close collaboration with policy makers and other food system actors and disseminate knowledge with the help of Just Food Talks, seminars, newsletters, podcasts, and social media.
E2 is responsible for the project's interaction work
The project will be carried out in close interaction with the actors of the food system. E2 Research is specifically responsible for this social interaction work. A wide range of actors will be involved at different stages of the project to generate knowledge and develop solutions together. Communication will be carried out in close cooperation with SYKE's communication activities. Social media, newsletters, podcasts, and discussion forums will both gather and channel information.
E2 Research is also involved in policy analysis work and a case study on dairy farmers' perceptions on climate and carbon neutrality.
